April 2020

Dear Bigs,

As we continue to social distance, your role in the life of your Little is more important than ever. You all have been doing an amazing job finding ways to digitally connect with your Littles and support them through this time.

This month's newsletter will be filled with more activities you and your Little can connect over virtually.

Thank you for all that you do!

Warm wishes,
The Community Team

STEAM EVENT

Girl Scouts at Home

The Girl Scouts have been generous enough to share a compiled list of at-home activity ideas with BBBS! Their website is filled with activity ideas for youth grades K-12. Appropriate for all children (not just girls) the activity topics range from steam to entrepreneurship. Take a look at the activities offered here.

GET INVOLVED

Helping Big Brothers Big Sisters

Looking for a way to support BBBS beyond mentoring?

To help us secure state and federal funding, we are currently looking for testimonials from Bigs and Littles talking about how being a part of BBBS has made an impact on them. To participate, record a video of yourself (somewhere around a minute or two long is perfect) or write a paragraph or two talking about how being a Big has impacted your life. Then, send the content to your Match Support Specialist. These messages will be shared with some of our funders as well as on our social media pages. Bonus points if your Little gets in on the fun with you!

We are also running a cookbook fundraiser! Submit your favorite recipes here

FILM EVENT

Watch a TedTalk or Movie Together

You and your little can each watch a Ted Talk and then call and discuss it.

Another option is to watch a movie and then talk about it. Some suggestions of what to watch can be found here.

MORE ACTIVITIES

Looking for more?

Check out the Big Brothers Big Sisters website for even more suggestions of virtual activities to do with your Littles. And please note, Bigs and Littles are absolutely NOT PERMITTED to meet in person at this time, even if social distancing guidelines are being followed.
