10 Year Matchiversary!

We are thrilled to share the details of a successful Matchiversary Celebration during our annual Summer Picnic earlier this month.

Bigs, Littles, and the amazing team at BBBS gathered in Shrewsbury, Massachusetts for an afternoon filled with fun board games, delicious food, plenty of new friends, and an Ice Cream Truck. Several matches in attendance were celebrating anniversaries of their time together as well, including Jon and Carter, who recently celebrated their 10th Matchiversary!

“Being a big for Carter has been one of the most rewarding things I have done in my life. It's a mutual learning situation, I get to share with Carter many of his first experiences along with some of the simple pleasures in life.” Said Jon, “Carter has taught me how to be a good listener and sounding board. He’s taught me the value in engaging with a diverse range of perspectives, and most importantly he’s taught me how to be a better man.”

Connie Askin, BBBS CEO shares that, “Consistent relationships are the bedrock of mentoring programs at Big Brothers Big Sisters. To see an active 10-year matchiversary like this is so special – and we have countless matches that have ‘graduated’ from BBBS who have a lifelong connection.”

Congratulations, Jon and Carter!

Become a Big

Becoming a Big just got easier! We recently launched a new online application that will streamline our application process. Our goal is to make the steps to become a Big as simple as possible for our volunteers. We have applications forms available for our community program, site-based program, and Mazie Mentoring program. All applications can be access here. Once we receive an application, our Enrollment Specialist will reach out to schedule an interview to learn more about you.

Congratulations Katie!

Our very own Director of Programs, Katie Roy, was recognized by the WooSox Foundation as a WooStar alongside 9 other local nonprofit heroes. Katie has worked at BBBS for over 7 years and her dedication to our Littles and Bigs goes unmatched!

Congratulations Katie! We are so proud of you!

Stand With Us Today to Defend Potential

When children and teens have the influence of a caring adult, they are more likely to avoid risky behaviors and to focus on academics. Today's youth face a variety of challenges, and being matched with a Big Brother or Big Sister can help them navigate these challenges and reach their potential.
